Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information. Last updated August 2026.

The short version

We only collect what we need to book your appointment and run the business. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing. Ever.

01Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to Squeaker Detailing, a mobile auto detailing and property washing business operating in Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, North York and surrounding areas in Ontario, Canada. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," we mean Squeaker Detailing.

We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Ontario's privacy practices for small businesses.

02What we collect

We only collect the information we need to book and complete your service:

  • Name, so we know who we are meeting
  • Phone number, for booking confirmations, on-the-way texts, and questions
  • Email address, for booking confirmations and receipts
  • Service address, so we know where to go
  • Vehicle information like make, model and condition, for accurate pricing
  • Booking notes like access instructions or special requests
  • Payment information, processed securely by our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers

That is it. We do not ask for, collect, or want anything we do not need.

03How we use it

Your information is used only for booking and scheduling your appointments, communicating with you about your booking, completing the service and following up on our 24-hour quality promise, bookkeeping such as receipts and tax records as required by law, and improving our service, for example noting that a vehicle had heavy pet hair so we can quote accurately next time.

We will not use your information for marketing emails, text blasts, or unsolicited promotions unless you have specifically opted in.

04Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

  • With service providers we rely on for payment processing, booking software and accounting, strictly limited to what they need to do their job. These providers have their own privacy obligations.
  • When required by law, such as a valid legal request from a court or government authority.
  • To protect our rights or safety, in the rare case of fraud, abuse or threats.

05Third-party services we use

  • Square, for payment processing and online booking. Card details go directly to Square, not to us.
  • ProtonMail, for our business email, which uses end-to-end encryption.
  • Standard SMS and phone carriers, for text and call communications.

Each of these has their own privacy policy. We choose providers that take privacy seriously.

06How long we keep your information

  • Active client records are kept for as long as you remain a client.
  • Inactive client records may be kept for up to 3 years to support repeat bookings and warranty-style follow-ups.
  • Financial records like invoices and receipts are kept for 6 years, as required by Canada Revenue Agency rules.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time, except where we are legally required to keep it.

07Security

Booking and payment data is handled by encrypted, PCI-compliant providers. Email runs through ProtonMail with end-to-end encryption. Devices used to manage bookings are password-protected, and paper records, when used, are stored securely and destroyed when no longer needed.

No system is 100 percent secure, but we treat your information with the same care we would want for our own.

08Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct any inaccuracies, withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual restrictions, request deletion when the information is no longer required, and file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

09Cookies and website tracking

Our website does not run third-party advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or behavioural-profiling cookies. If we ever add basic analytics to understand how the site is used, we will update this policy and choose privacy-respecting tools.

10Children

Our services are intended for adults who own or are authorized to manage vehicles or property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version. If we make significant changes, we will do our best to flag them clearly.
